One Faculty Petition

Thanks to you, we reached our Labor Day goal 10 days early! Please keep signing!
You deserve better.
You deserve a Rutgers administration that pays you fairly, supports your hard work, and treats you with respect.
Increased class enrollment, EMR system glitches, clinic schedules that need fixing—you are no longer just a faculty member—you are the IT person, the department administrator, the maintenance person – with ever increasing workload.
And while your budget has been tight since the pandemic, senior RBHS administration has paid itself handsomely. From September 2020 to September 2021, funds spent on RBHS Senior Executive base pay increased 11%.
Today, we say enough! And our non-RBHS faculty colleagues stand with us and also say enough.
We aim to merge AAUP-BHSNJ and AAUP-AFT faculty contracts in order to harness the combined bargaining power of both unions’ members, 5,000 in total, which would be a juggernaut towards achieving a university that better values you.
In order to make this happen, we need a majority of faculty we represent to sign the petition below.
Time has come down to break down these arbitrary divisions and harness more bargaining power at the negotiating table.
→ Together, we can make significant gains in clinical compensation, research support, workload caps, and job security.
→ Together, we can stop RBHS from destroying our union by allowing Barnabas to hire clinicians and staff as second-class citizens.
→ Together, as one faculty, we can build a better university which honors us.

I want to increase our bargaining power by combining faculty contracts. I, the undersigned, authorize the Rutgers Council of AAUP Chapters, American Association of University Professors-American Federation of Teachers, to be my representative for the purpose of collective negotiations.
Your signature will not be seen by RBHS Administrators and will only be used at the Public Employee Relations Commission after we have obtained a majority of faculty signatures.
By signing this petition, you are not joining the union as a member. If you are not already a member or you are unsure if you are a member, please fill out our member form here.
